Welcome to Today’s Daily Fountain Devotional of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. Daily Fountain is a daily reading devotional for all Anglicans and Non-Anglicans to read, study, share and discuss the Word of God on a daily basis.

TOPIC: GOD IS HOLY

TEXT: Psalm 99: 4-9(KJV)
99:4. The king’s strength also loveth judgment; thou dost establish equity, thou executest judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
99:5. Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.
99:6. Moses and Aaron among his priests, and Samuel among them that call upon his name; they called upon the LORD, and he answered them.
99:7. He spake unto them in the cloudy pillar: they kept his testimonies, and the ordinance that he gave them.
99:8. Thou answeredst them, O LORD our God: thou wast a God that forgavest them, though thou tookest vengeance of their inventions.
99:9. Exalt the LORD our God, and worship at his holy hill; for the LORD our God is holy.

Anglican Daily Fountain 11th February 2024 STUDY:

We have a holy God who loves justice, equity and righteousness and is to be exalted and worshipped. Moses, Aaron and Samuel were among those who called upon His name, and He answered them. God speaks to His people, gives them testimonies, answers their prayers, forgives their sins and takes vengeance on their misdeeds. That is why our God should be exalted and worshipped where His presence is, because He is a holy God.

Holiness is an intrinsic part of God and Christians have been called by God to live a life of holiness in their speech and conduct (1 Pet. 1: 15). Living a life of holiness demands that you lay aside every form of malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy or bad language. For you to grow in holiness, you need to be washed in the blood of Jesus, desire the pure milk of the Word of God and yield your life to the guidance and control of the Holy Spirit.

Christians who want to be holy should seek the mind of Christ (Phil. 2: 5). Having such a mind will make you think and act like Jesus. So, think holy and live holy. Be holy for God is holy!

PRAYER: Holy Father, grant me the grace to live a holy life in Jesus’ name, Amen
