Anglican Daily Fountain 24th February 2024 (Devotional Today)

Welcome to Today’s Daily Fountain Devotional of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. Daily Fountain is a daily reading devotional for all Anglicans and Non-Anglicans to read, study, share and discuss the Word of God on a daily basis.

TOPIC: GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD

TEXT: Psalm 16: 1-6(KJV)
16:1. Preserve me, O God: for in thee do I put my trust.
16:2. O my soul, thou hast said unto the LORD, Thou art my Lord: my goodness extendeth not to thee;
16:3. But to the saints that are in the earth, and to the excellent, in whom is all my delight.
16:4. Their sorrows shall be multiplied that hasten after another god: their drink offerings of blood will I not offer, nor take up their names into my lips.
16:5. The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot.
16:6. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

Anglican Daily Fountain 24th February 2024 STUDY:

Today is St. Matthias Day and also Church of Nigeria Day when we commemorate the 182 years Anniversary of our church in Nigeria. In our text, we see that David has a good relationship with God such that he trusts Him for his preservation, his goodness comes from Him, he delights in the saints, and has God as his inheritance. David is happy that he has a good inheritance from God.

David understood the importance of having a personal relationship with God, and it enhanced his love and trust for Him. Any believer that must go far in his Christian race must develop a strong and intimate relationship with the Lord. Christians have a wonderful gift from the Lord Jesus because it is in Him that we have obtained an inheritance according to the counsel of His will (Eph. 1: 11).

Do you have a personal relationship with God? Is He your Father with whom you interact and communicate on a daily basis? If not, you should call upon the Lord Jesus right now to save you from your sins. Then you will become a member of God’s family (John 1: 12-13). Try it now and talk to God in prayer!

PRAYER: O Lord, I come to You today for adoption into Your family in Jesus’ name. Amen.
