Welcome to Today’s Daily Fountain Devotional of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. Daily Fountain is a daily reading devotional for all Anglicans and Non-Anglicans to read, study, share and discuss the Word of God on a daily basis.

TEXT: Mark 16: 14-20(KJV)
16:14. Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen.
16:15. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16:16. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
16:17. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
16:18. They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
16:19. So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God.
16:20. And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.

Anglican Daily Fountain 26th January 2024 STUDY:

Today, just a day following the Conversion of Saint Paul, we celebrate Saints Timothy and Titus, close companions of the Apostle Paul. Both of them were Greeks who came to know the Lord and later accompanied Paul on various missionary journeys. They brought in their youthful enthusiasm to their call. Timothy later helped Paul to establish churches at Philippi, Thessalonica, and Berea. Titus accompanied Paul and Barnabas to the Jerusalem Apostolic Council meeting. He was later sent on urgent missions to Corinth and was entrusted with the organisation of the Church in Crete. In each case, these young men preached the Gospel, proving themselves faithful, reliable and worthy ambassadors of Christ.

The point here is that Jesus’ disciples have a responsibility to proclaim the good news of the salvation provided by Christ Jesus. That good news is the offer of forgiveness of sins and the offer of eternal life. The Lord of the harvest is in the business of sending people into the harvest fields to reap souls (Mark 16: 15). Will He find you available and willing like Timothy and Titus? It doesn’t matter your level of education or exposure; Christ equips all of His disciples to serve Him in different capacities and does extraordinary things through them. He can use you too if you are available.

PRAYER: Dear Lord, help me to go about the task You have assigned to me, Amen.
