TODAY’S TOPIC: OUR GOD SAVES

Opening Prayer:Dear Lord, expose me to your truth as I read your word in Jesus name.

SCRIPTURE: PSALMS 68:1-20

Question(s) for Reflection
• Q 1: What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Q2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Outline For Scripture Union Daily Guide 1 February 2024

David recognizes and appeals to God as the Mighty warrior before whom the wicked cannot stand (v.1). Notice the contrasts between the wicked and the righteous (vs.2-3). When God arises to fight for His people, no enemy can withstand Him. However, when we are hard pressed and tempted to wish or even pray for God to destroy the wicked who make life difficult for us, we should remember that He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked but desires that everyone comes to repentance (Ezekiel 33:11; 2 Peter 3:9). He knows how to subdue all our enemies as long as we trust in Him.

Read vs.4-10,11 and 19 again and observe other reasons we should praise the Lord. Our God is kind and compassionate. He is our Father and defender. He gives us children, sets us free, gives us rain, restores, provides, and daily bears our burdens. We have every reason to celebrate and invite others to share in the joy of our salvation as we proclaim that our God is mighty to save from all difficulties – physical, economic, spiritual, etc (vs.19-20).

Practice/Word Application
So what? What giant are you facing in your life? The Lord who fought for Israel will fight for you (1 Samuel 7:10-12; 17:43-51). Simply trust Him in all your situations.
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
