Topic: The Prayers of the Saints
Opening Prayer: Help me dear Lord to meet with you as I meditate on your word in Jesus name
Scripture: Revelation 8:1‐13

• Is there any promise for me to believe or hope for?
• Is there any warning for me to heed?
When the Lamb opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven (v.1). The world has become too noisy. Our smart phones and television screens and heavy musical equipment occupy our attention so much that we have very little time left to hear the still small voice of God. How are you making room for the Lord in your life? Do you have your personal period of silence to meditate on God and on the Lamb?
The angel offered much incense with the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar before the throne. Saints are those who have personally accepted the redemptive work of Christ Jesus. They have repented of their sin and put their faith in Christ Jesus. The prayers of such saints have great power in their effects (see James 5:16). The first four trumpets blown seemed to be followed by environmental degradation.
The world of late suffers much from environmental changes ‐ climate change, greenhouse effect, tornadoes, volcanic eruptions and very large‐scale earthquakes which have claimed many lives etc. Environmental pollution has poisoned our rivers and/or cause them to become dry land. There seems to be generally a rise in demonic activities that threaten life and property on earth. Are these events not speaking?

And so: All saints, let our prayers rise to the Lord to save the environment.

• Lord, forgive us that we have degraded our environment. Help us to be more responsible.
