Topic: God’s Steadfast Love Endures Forever

Opening Prayer: Dear Lord, I pray that you order my steps today through your word as I meditate on it.

Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Read James 4:2‐3; 1 John 5:14‐15. Identify from one or two sections of Solomon’s prayer in chapter 6 elements that confirm that he prayed according to the will of God. No wonder his prayers were answered instantly as fire and the glory of God descended to signify that His sacrifice was accepted by God. Even years later, the prayer continued to be effective as we noted yesterday in Daniel’s life. If we will learn to pray in accordance with the Word of God and not to satisfy our pleasures, we can be certain to receive positive answers from God.

Faces bowed down (v.3) reveal an expression of the awesomeness of the presence of God. Note their cheerful submission to the divine authority and their sense of unworthiness to come into God’s presence. Do you have a similar attitude? The generosity of Solomon’s sacrifice was marvellous. The more you love God the more you give to Him. The people of Israel praised the Lord for His goodness towards David and His people (vs.6, 8‐10).

Shouts of joy, victory and celebration will always happen “in the camp of the godly” and in the community of believers who worship God in spirit and in truth (Psalm 118:15‐16 NLT).
