TODAY’S OUTLINE: MFM Daily Devotional 17th December 2020

Jesus spoke the truth more than any preacher who ever lived. The author and finisher of our faith who defines Himself as the way, the truth and the life in John 14:6 has something unique to share with you in today’s devotional session. Sometime ago when I was in England, I was the head of a Bible study group in a particular Postgraduate students hall.

We held our Bible studies on Tuesdays. The first day that I taught, I found that many people felt uncomfortable. The next time that I was to talk, immediately I entered the study room, I found that somebody had just finished ironing some clothes there. It was a sister in whose room we were to hold the Bible study, who had just ironed the dress that she would use to attend a party with an unbeliever.

She was just waiting for us to finish the Bible study. I started to talk by saying, “Well, God will meet you the way death meets you and there is no guarantee that in the next five minutes, you will still be here. Those who still patch their Christianity, who are not yet ready to stand out, are planning for destruction because when Jesus was around, He was very rigid.

So, in case you are looking for somebody who will bend the rules, such a person is not the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ kept saying: “Woe to the enemies of the gospel. He called the Scribes and Pharisees the sons of those who killed the prophets but He spoke good words unto those who loved Him.”

As we ended the Bible study, the sister said, “Daniel, wait, I want to talk with you. What you said today is just what I needed to shake me out of my slumber. But you see, I am a young girl, you are old. How then do I enjoy myself. You can afford not to go to disco but I, a young girl, how will I get on?”

If you combine all of today’s devotional texts together, you will discover that the truth remains the truth. You cannot reject, avoid or edit it. The truth is constant.

Memory verse: Matthew 12:34 “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”

Motivational Quote: Contentment makes a poor man rich and discontentment makes a rich man poor.

Prophetic Word: The anonymous and the unknown shall become the most anointed.

HYMN: Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler Of All Nature

Fairest Lord Jesus, Ruler of all nature,
O Thou of God and man the Son,
Thee will I cherish, Thee will I honor,
Thou, my soul’s glory, joy and crown.

Fair are the meadows, fairer still the woodlands,
Robed in the blooming garb of spring;
Jesus is fairer, Jesus is purer,
Who makes the woeful heart to sing.

Fair is the sunshine, Fairer still the moonlight,
And all the twinkling starry host;
Jesus shines brighter, Jesus shines purer
Than all the angels heaven can boast.

All fairest beauty, heavenly and earthly,
Wondrously, Jesus, is found in Thee;
None can be nearer, fairer or dearer,
Than Thou, my Savior, art to me.

Beautiful Savior! Lord of all the nations!
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, praise, adoration,
Now and forever more be Thine.
