MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR MONDAY 4 OCTOBER 2021

TOPIC: UNHEALTHY SELF ESTEEM 2

Fire Scripture: 1 Pet. 2:4-10

MFM Daily Devotional 4 October 2021 Monday | Outline

Unhealthy self-esteem could be as a result of many factors. It could arise from an overrating as well as underrating of oneself, consciously or unconsciously. Evaluating yourself from a proud, exalted and arrogant perspective is as dangerous as someone who does the same from a timid and insecure disposition. Timidity is not humility. Pride is abomination before God.

MFM 70 Days Fasting And Prayer Points 4 October 2021 | Day 57

Do you look down on others and consider yourself to be better than them? Do you engage in unhealthy comparison with another person? It is not wise! Remember Ahab’s feelings towards Naboth and his vineyard? Unhealthy emotions, greed and covetousness! Though a king and highly placed, yet he desired the humble property of his subject.

Remember, the boastful Pharisee at the place of prayer, who considered himself to be a better person than the Publican (Luke 18:9-14). Thanks to God who looks inwardly, and not outwardly as man does (1Sam. 16:7). Gideon had a poor self-esteem. He didn’t see what could qualify him for a deliverer of his people. But God saw in him, “a mighty man of valour” (Judges 6:6-16).

The same happened to Moses, who, at the time of his call, gave God so many excuses for his inability to undertake the divine assignment. God gave him every counter reason to convince and show him that he is not alone (Exod. 3:1-12).

Beloved, you need to look beyond your painful past or present prevailing circumstances. This is possibly the reason for your timidity and insecurity, even that feeling of inadequacy and inferiority. It is not inhuman to fail, but it is tragic to remain a failure! Unhealthy selfesteem will rob you of opportunities and stop you from manifesting in your God-given potential and abilities.

Run from self- deception! Do you suffer from bad health, which makes you think you are not fit to live and move freely among others? You are wrong! God has the final say over your life, if only you can believe Him. Your problems do not and should not define or determine your personality.

Your situations are mere occurrences and all shall pass away with God on your side. Don’t allow the enemy to feed you with food of gradual self-destruction (John 8:44) God is in charge of your case! Joshua would have been sore afraid to step into the shoes of Moses as the next leader of the Israelites. But God gave His word, to be with him always. Just like Moses and Gideon, he went in that might and became an achiever to the glory of God. (Josh. 1:9).

Drop the scars of abuses, regrets, failures, unfulfilled ambitions, internal conflicts, unexplainable battles, and other problems untold. Start to see and access your divine position. You are seated in Christ; that makes you an overcomer!

Memory verse
1 Pet. 2:10- Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Motivational Quote
Loving starts with loving God and loving yourself. If you don’t love and value yourself, nobody will. You may end not loving anyone else. Love yourself and love others!

Prophetic Word
The power of the Almighty shall break and destroy every lie of the enemy preventing you from realising your exalted position in Christ, in the name of Jesus.

MFM Daily Devotional 4th October 2021 Monday | Hymn
  • I know that my Redeemer liveth

1. I know that my Redeemer liveth,
And on the earth again shall stand;
I know eternal life He giveth,
That grace and power are in His hand.

Chorus
I know, I know that Jesus liveth,
And on the earth again shall stand;
I know, I know that life He giveth,
That grace and power are in His hand.

2. I know His promise never faileth,
The word He speaks, it cannot die;
Tho’ cruel death my flesh assaileth,
Yet I shall see Him by and by.

3. I know my mansion He prepareth,
That where He is there I may be;
O wondrous tho’t, for me He careth,
And He at last will come for me.
