The second price you need to pay to receive spiritual power is to be dead to sin, self and the world. John 12:24, the Bible says, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.”

The endosperm must die and give up its contents in order to support life and regenerate the dying seed. If the endosperm refuses to give up itself and support the developing embryo, there would not be a new life springing up from the dying seed. A seed must lose its life to fulfil its ultimate purpose. Likewise everyone needs to shun worldliness in order to gain eternity (John 12:25).

Being dead is having God alone, not God and any other thing. God wants to know if He or self was the one reigning in the life of Abraham; He tested him by asking him to sacrifice Isaac to Him. Abraham was willing to offer Isaac. You must come to a point in your life that there is nothing you cannot give God. In God’s Kingdom, we gain things by losing them or first releasing them for God’s use.

The third price is that you must live a life of sacrifice. In Romans 12:1-2, the Bible says, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”

Sacrifice means giving to the Lord whatever He requires of our time, our earthly possessions and our energies to further His work. To be a living sacrifice means to live every minute of every day as an offering and service to the Lord. It is being willing and ready to do the Lord’s bidding and go anywhere for Him, regardless of whether it is convenient for us or not.

Beloved, if you want God to endow you with His power, your life in all its entirety must be consecrated and offered to God to use as He pleases!
