TOPIC: THE HAND OF GOD (II)
MFM Daily Devotional 17th May 2021

Fire Scripture: 1 Kgs.18:44-46

Today’s Outline: We continue our devotion today from where we stopped yesterday on the hand of the Lord. We learned that the Hand of the Lord is mighty and that it is dangerous and deadly against His enemies. The hand of the Lord will help His people. Once you are a child of God, be rest assured that His hand will help you when and where you need help. His hand was upon Ezra (Ezra 7:6). Because of the Hand of God upon him, he made a personal commitment to live for God.

His address to his people, using the word of God, brought great repentance and commitment to their God and His laws. When the hand of the Lord is upon you, it will help you to keep God’s commands and also teach the word of God. The hand of the Lord upon you will empower you to do the extraordinary just as Elijah did in 1 Kings 18:46. He was able to run faster than Ahab who was riding on a horse. This is the supernatural and extraordinary power of God. Prophet Ezekiel also experienced the hand of the Lord.

The early apostles experienced the hand of the Lord upon them (Acts 11:21). His hand upon them preached the gospel aggressively to the Gentiles. They continued aggressive preaching where they fled to after the outbreak of persecution in Jerusalem and after the death of Stephen. Beloved, Stephen was stoned to death because his faith was full. He saw the glory of God and Jesus Christ standing at the right hand of God to welcome him home (Acts 7:55).

The same is true of Paul in Acts 23:11. When he was falsely imprisoned, the Lord stood by him and told him to be of good cheer. The hand of God can also be heavy to discipline His children. David encountered the hand of God many times in form of divine discipline or correction (Ps.38, Ps.32:1-5). Beloved, in every hardship trial and tribulation, the hand of the Lord that was in the early apostles is still available for you today.

Jesus promised that He would never leave you nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5). The hand of the Lord that changed the story of Jabez and gave Jacob a new name will continually be upon you for protection, healing, blessings, peace and joy, in Jesus’ name. This same hand of the Lord will be against all your enemies, in Jesus’ name.

Memory Verse: 1 Kg. 18:46 – “And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.”

Motivational Quote: When God hides you in the hollow of His hands, the enemy cannot touch you.

Prophetic Word: The hand of the Lord shall be upon you for mercy and deliverance, in the name of Jesus.
