TOPIC: HOLY SPIRIT IN YOUR CHRISTIAN WALK

MFM DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR 6 MAY 2021 THURSDAY TODAY OUTLINE:
As a believer, you cannot maintain your walk intimately and conveniently with the Lord except by the help of the Holy Spirit. When you come to Christ and you give your life to Him, He takes up the Holy Spirit within you. God knows our frailty and limitations as we continue in this world as mortals. Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, was sent to this earth (John 3:16) to live as we live, going all the way as we do (Heb. 4:15).
Jesus did not leave us alone either; He gave us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, Our Enabler (John 14:16). Therefore, we need to walk daily in the power of the Holy Spirit, the indwelling power of God that leads, teaches and guides us through our journey of life. That is why we sing this song: Holy Spirit, be my Comforter
Holy Spirit, take control
As I walk along the way
The way is narrow,
Holy Spirit, be my guide!
This is a confession of our human weakness, indicating that the Holy Spirit is our guide through life and that we depend on Him. To achieve this, we must be engaged in a consistent daily walk with the Holy Spirit in righteousness and truth. Having become dead to sin and fleshly lusts through the crucifying of the old man in us as we gave our life to Jesus (2 Cor. 5:17), it is the Holy Spirit that can help us live the new life in Christ without distraction or deviation from the way. We cannot resist the devil by ourselves. Our human power, knowledge and abilities are limited and inadequate here. Only the Holy Spirit can! Walking with the Holy Spirit means living a new life in Christ, having a consciousness that you are not alone but the power of God in you, helping you to know the mind of God, obey His commandments and do His will. You will experience fruitful and abundant life in Christ.
It is a life-changing experience where you are not in charge but the Holy Spirit. He helps you to die totally to your old life and ways of life, and you begin to experience the newness of life in Christ (Gal. 5:24-25). A big question: Are you obedient to the prompting of the Holy Spirit in you or do you grieve Him? The Holy Spirit is a gentle Spirit who will quietly take His leave if you constantly grieve Him. The Bible warns us not to do so (Eph. 4:30). Living a sinful life with impunity and hypocrisy will grieve Him.
