RCCG OPEN HEAVEN TEENS FOR 5TH AUGUST 2022
TOPIC: BREAD OF LIFE
Read: John 6:30-35
Memorise
And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. John 6:35
In the Old Testament, God sent down ‘manna’ which was the miraculous bread, to satisfy the Israelites hunger as they travelled through the desert. They were to pick what would be just enough for each day because if they kept any for the next, it would spoil. However, when Jesus came to declare Himself as the bread of life, His emphasis showed the need to trust Him to satisfy our physical body, soul and spirit. He told the crowd that He was even more important to them than their daily meals.
As physical food is basic to life, so also is the spiritual food. Jesus is the spiritual bread that gives us everlasting life through our relationship with God. Today, He is inviting you into a relationship that will ensure your spiritual growth. As you dig deep into the word of God, He will satisfy your hunger by revealing deep things of the Lord to you. The more you feed on that Bread of Life, the more you grow and become healthy spiritually; when you’re healthy, you will be more productive in all aspects of your life.
Point
Nothing can ever satisfy a human being like Jesus – not even Cannabis, alcohol and the likes; only Jesus can.
