ANCHOR SCRIPTURE(S): PSALM 82:5
MESSAGE TOPIC: THE NECESSITY OF DIVINE DIRECTION By: Dr Paul Enenche

SERVICE OBJECTIVE(S): Understanding why it is necessary to have direction from God
There are vital, indispensable necessities of the physical life such as eating, drinking, bathing, walking, resting after work etc.
The physical life can be in danger when these necessities are not adhered to
As it is in the physical so it is in the spiritual; there are vital, indispensable necessities of the spiritual life such as: Studying the Word, praying, and hearing God etc.
SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF THE NECESSITY OF HEARING GOD:
1. Abraham through hearing God moved his life from stagnation and frustration to celebration (Gen. 12:1-5; 22;1-17)
Through hearing God, Abraham was able to do the right thing by offering the ram instead of his son Isaac when it was time for the sacrifice (Gen. 22:1-17)
It is not only necessary to hear God yesterday, it is necessary to hear God today because God can adjust instructions based on present conditions
2. Through hearing God, Isaac was able to avoid the error of travelling in the wrong direction (Gen. 26:1-4, 12-14)
If you can hear God, you will be envied where others are pitied (Gen. 26:14)
Don’t achieve motion based on situations; achieve motion based on revelation.
Our success in life is not in a destination, it is in a revelation.
Our fulfilment in life is not in a specific location, it is in a revelation.
It is very critical that you don’t move by sight but you move by light, and if you move by light, you must gain your height
3. Through hearing God, the prophet Samuel was able to pour the Oil on the right head (1Sam. 16:1-13)
When revelation is scarce, assumption is abundant
Many have ‘poured their oil on the wrong head’ – it could be investing your money in the wrong business etc.
4. David (1Sam. 30:1-14; 1Sam. 231-13; 1Chron. 14:8-15)
Many enter the trap of marriage to a particular method or tradition and because of that they end in frustration but David broke that marriage to method
5. Paul the apostle received his ministry by Divine direction (Acts 9:3-10); he continued his ministry by Divine direction (Acts 16:6-10; 18:5; 20:22-24; 21:10-14; Rom. 9:3; Gal. 2:7-8; Rom. 11:13; Acts 21:26-33; 23:12-22)
As good as good things are, there are good things God will ask you not to do by virtue of His own will
On your spiritual journey, never be overconfident of anything at any time
If you know how to hear God, you can also miss God if you get overconfident of your abilities
THE NECESSITY OF DIVINE DIRECTION:
1. To avoid the traps and snares of destruction
2. To avoid running life in the wrong direction
3. To avoid pouring energy and effort in the wrong direction
4. To avoid putting/investing resources in the wrong endeavours
5. To avoid the tragedy of the wrong association
6. To avoid existence in confusion and uncertainty
7. To avoid functioning in assumption or living by experience
8. To avoid existence without expectation
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO HEAR FROM GOD?
1. Be His sheep (John 10:27; 3-4)
Be genuinely born again
It is the privilege of sheep and of sons to hear God
2. Be desperate for His Voice (Hos. 6:3; Hab. 2:1)
If you desire the voice of God like you desire food or water, you will hear from God
God will leave you to do without what you are willing to do without
If you are willing to do without hearing from God, God will leave you to do without Divine direction.
3. Be connected to the Spirit (Rom. 8:14; Luke 4:1; 1Cor. 14:2)
The Holy Spirit was not only given to us to give us a prayer language, but also to give us direction (Rom. 8:14)
If you know how to pray abundantly in the Holy Spirit, it is hard to miss direction.
PRAYERS
Father, thank You for Your Word to us today. To You be all the glory Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
Father, the grace to hear Your Voice, I receive it, in Jesus’ Name.
ANOINTING FOCUS (PSALM 92:10):
Fresh Oil – Fresh Fire
– The grace to know the next step to take in life is released!
– Every spell of confusion, frustration and lack of direction is destroyed now!
– I decree the release of needed direction, revelation, liberation and deliverance!
– By the reason of this anointing in your life, family and destiny, grace and glory shall overflow!
– Every family, individual and location where this Oil is poured, the theme of this year shall answer!
– By reason of this anointing, every yoke in your life is broken!
PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:
– This year 2022, God is going to give you the opposite of what the devil planned for you!
– Your ears shall be opened to hear God well!
– You will not be wasted!
– Every witch and wizard that came to try the prophetic announcement over your life this year only came to die!
