PRIORITY AND PASSION TO EVANGELIZE THE LOST

Sample analysis of Jesus’ discuss mostly centre on the need, urgency and quest to get souls saved. He had looked into the spectrum of life and saw a great harvest in Samaria. Despite the distance and tribal sentiments that existed between the Samaritans and the Jews, He was constrained by the PRIORITY and PASSION for souls to MUST NEEDS go through Samaria. John 4:4 where a great harvest was anticipated. In today’s study we shall examine these two key words and see how they can affect our desire to rescue the lost and save the perishing.
1. PRIORITY TO EVANGELIZE THE LOST: Luke 2:49-52; John 4:4, 31-38; Acts 5:28-33; 9:59-62; Acts 5:40-42; Rom.9:1-3. “In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat? Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” John 4:31-34.
The task of evangelism was too overwhelming that Jesus prioritized it than food. The Bible is replete with testimonies of men who put their lives in the balance and on the line preferring to die if the right and privilege of preaching the gospel was withdrawn from them. They saw the urgency and vowed never to remain silent until the good news is preached.

Don’t keep your mouth close from telling someone the love of God. It may be the last opportunity for that individual and his saving Grace. Have you considered the issue of witnessing to your parents, siblings, etc. as a matter of priority. We live at an age where death is more celebrated than life. Spend money today and get your parents saved in the village.
2. THE PASSION TO EVANGELIZE. Matt. 9:36-38; Acts 6:1-4. And he must NEEDS GO through Samaria JOHN 4:4. Nothing can restrain a man with passion. The tendency to sit at ease, run down others, criticize and condemn the sinner was relatively strange to the early church. In Acts 6:1 we see a paradigm shift that greatly helped the church, rather than reprimand, discipline or ex-communicate the widows that were complaining and murmuring of not being taken care of, the Apostles’ response portray a classic demonstration of a people that are not only concerned with the call to evangelize those who are outside the church but also had the care and concern for those who are already in the church. (This does not give any Liscence for murmuring, laziness or complains.
Take note that these women were widows and the specification for those to be called widows) they were diligent to know the state of their flock. “Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds. Prov.27:23. The passion for souls creates a craving desire in the heart of every believer not to be indifferent to or negligent of the plight of sinners. This should naturally ignite the need for:
i. Purposeful planning to ensure that the lost and unreached are witnessed to
ii.) Personal preparation to ensure that everyone is empowered to do the work without ceasing
iii. Practical provision to ensure that the downtrodden and helpless are restored and properly integrated into the society.
Organizations abroad spent millions of dollars in those days to send containers to Africa for the purpose of evangelism. Materials like bibles, books, bicycles, sewing machines, etc. all inclusive. Some of these materials had labels clearly marked on them NOT FOR SALE but these same materials found themselves in the market shelves with prices attached? How passionate are we in the search and rescue mission of sinners?
