Outline For Scripture Union Daily Guide 12 March 2023

We saw Jesus manifest His authority in various ways yesterday. He particularly stirred up a hornets’ nest when He touched the economic life of the people, especially of the leaders. Often these religious leaders have vested interest in the temple businesses. Not surprisingly then, they challenged Jesus’ authority. They felt He was interfering in their lives and sphere of responsibilities (the Temple). Are there times we also feel the Lord is interfering unnecessarily in our lives?

Notice the evasive answer these leaders gave to Jesus’ question (v.33)? They decided to evade His question, and so they could not complain when He declined to answer theirs. Thank God, we know the answer to their question. Jesus Christ did everything under the authority of His Father (John 14:10). What is more, He grants to us the same mission and the same authority too (John 17:18,22); and we know that His Holy Spirit in us is greater than all the forces ranged against us in this world (1 John 4:4)!

Practice/Word Application
Food for Thought: Jesus: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, your authority is limitless. Help me to declare this truth and not be intimidated by any man.

Therefore God has exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, that at the mention of the name Jesus, every knee shall bow… – Philippians 2:9-10

► A breakthrough in our health, personal and family life today.
► Ask God for grace to continue this race and finish well and strong in Jesus name.
► Grace not to ignore God’s teachings and lessons He wants us to learn on a daily basis.

► Being misled by false prophets, forgetting that we have been given the power to call upon the name of Jesus for our victory.
