TOPIC: WE ARE CHILDREN OF GOD
OPENING PRAYER: Oh Lord, grant me divine guidance as I read and meditate on your word in Jesus name.
SCRIPTURE: 1 JOHN 3:1-10

Scripture Union Daily Guide 27 November 2024 Outline:
We become God’s children, when we believe in His Son Jesus Christ (John 1:12) which is by His grace alone. However, we must make a conscious effort to believe and receive this gift of grace.
Reflect on vs.1-2 and see the extent of this love which God lavished on us, by accepting us as His children. This unimaginable love shows how much value or worth He places on us. Having known this, you must not take His love for granted. What then, do you do to maintain this status (v.3)? We need to maintain purity and readiness as we expect His coming.
People sometimes ask whether a particular action is a sin or not. Read v.4 and see what sin is. As a follow up to v.4, carefully observe the truth that is being established in vs.5-6. There was no sin in Christ, rather, He came to take away sin by His sacrificial death on the cross. Those who believe are saved and have the word of God dwelling in them. They have eternal life (see also 1 Peter 1:23). Although there are situations of strong temptations and trials; it is important to know that those who are God’s children do not make a practice of sin. They have victory over sin.
Furthermore, how do we know who is a child of God and who is not (vs.7-10)? Their works /fruit are different and there is no middle ground. Holiness and love are the lifestyle of true believers in Christ.

Closing Prayer
Lord Jesus, help me to daily pursue holiness without which no one shall see God.Also, to love; for God is Love.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Proverbs 29:25

‣ The General Director of SU Nig. for thus far the Lord has been with and helped him in this one year in the office.
‣ For safety he has enjoyed in all his trips both national and international
‣ The wife and family for their support to him in the service
PRAY FOR:
•Divine revelation upon him as he directs the affairs of the ministry.
•Greater grace and unction to function.
•He will keep recognizing that it is the Lord that called him into the office for His kingdom purposes. Declare that the Almighty God will protect/preserve his life and the family throughout his trips as GD and beyond.
