What is the evidence of our love for Jesus (v.15)? There was no doubt that the disciples loved their Master, Jesus. This was obviously expressed in their griefs at the news of His departure that would soon take place. However, Jesus was challenging them to a greater dimension of love beyond emotional attachment and expressions. They must prove their love for Him by obeying His commands and teachings (e.g., see John 13:14-15, 34; 14:1). What are the benefits of obeying Jesus’ commands and teachings (vs.16-23)?
Jesus was the first Advocate of His disciples (1 John 2:1), but He promised them another Advocate (the Holy Spirit) if they were obedient. What are the important roles of the Holy Spirit in the life of believers (v.26)?
We can enjoy the same privileges the early disciples had. It is very reassuring and encouraging that the Father and the Son live in us by the indwelling Holy Spirit. Interestingly, our greatest hope is that Jesus is coming back to take us to Himself (vs.3,28). We should, therefore live in obedience to Him as we prepare for His soon return.

• Pray for Christian marriages that are facing turbulence, for God’s divine intervention • Ask that God will calm the storm and restore peace and love • Pray for the spirit of forgiveness to reign in Christian homes
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Psalms 30:5
“For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.”
