TOPIC: THE POSSIBILITY AND RESPONSIBILITY OF LIGHT
SCRIPTURE: When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; Job 29:3-4.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Light gives you both possibility and responsibility.
In life, light is key to guidance and direction. Proper guidance and accurate direction are major products of light. Light brings guidance or direction, and direction facilitates both acceleration and elevation.
There are things you get to know because you get in touch with light. When you are in touch with light, you know what to do; and it is the knowledge of what to do that makes your life, career, ministry, business move forward. It is the knowledge of what to do that makes the work of your hand not to crawl.
Job 29:3-4 says,
When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle;
Job, in Job 29:4 said that he walked through darkness by light. So, light guides; light guides people’s steps. When you are guided by light, you cannot be stranded in life.
Now, the question is, what is light?
Light is a combination of insight in the Word and action steps in the Word. To put it in another way, light is a combination of illumination and application.
For example, when you say, But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Phil. 4:19), that is not light; it may be a mere piece of information. Now, it becomes light when you know what to do to make your God supply your needs.
This is one reason why many people say, “I got a revelation but I didn’t get the result.” It is because they do not look for the action to take in that revelation they got.
Also, when you say, “The Lord shall bless my bread and my water,” quoting from Exodus 23:25, that is not a revelation because that passage is not complete.
The complete version is,
And ye shall serve the Lord your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Exodus 23:25.
Can you see? It is those who serve the Lord that are guaranteed of the Blessing. Light gives you both possibility and responsibility. Revelation without application leads to frustration. It is the application of revelation that brings manifestation.
Beloved, you must be ready to take applicable responsibility to experience the possibility of light.
Remember this: Light gives you both possibility and responsibility.
ASSIGNMENTS FOR TODAY:
1. As you study the Word, look out for the actions to take to see possibility.
2. Refuse to carry the revelation of the Word in your mind without the responsibility to take.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You open my eyes to insights and the corresponding responsibility to take as I study Your Word. Deliver me from the mentality of faith without action, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
