STREAMS OF JOY DAILY DEVOTIONAL 19 JULY 2021
TOPIC: NOT BY PROTOCOLS
SCRIPTURE: “And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:” (2 Kings 9: 1)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
It is instructive to observe that in bible times, kings were usually anointed by major prophets. It was not an assignment for sons of the prophets (prophets in training). It was an assignment for prophets who had completed their period of being under the tutelage of the major prophet. Notice that in our Focal Scripture, someone who was still in training was sent to anoint Jehu as king. He was not qualified, but the opportunity came.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you may still be like a prophet in training, you may be in that place where you have not learnt enough to be the master in your craft, you may be in that place where you are not qualified enough for the assignments you aspire to fulfill, but God is causing you to receive the opportunities for your next level. God is causing you to advance into heights that men say you are not qualified for.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: God Himself is causing protocols to be broken for your sake. You shall be selected for that new height that you didn’t plan to attain soon. You will be selected for that new height that you are not yet qualified to be in. You will be handpicked amongst your contemporaries to step into new levels that will stand you out ahead of them. You will be handpicked for new favours that others are still praying for.
There may be protocols that say you are not qualified, there may be protocols that say you are not ready to be at the top, there may be protocols that should disqualify you, but as surely as the Lord lives, mercy will speak louder than protocols in your life. When protocols say no to you, mercy will say yes. When protocols say you are not qualified, mercy will qualify you. Mercy will promote you; mercy will empower you to advance.
Get set to be chosen for greatness even when you imagine that you are not qualified. Get set to be considered for elevations you didn’t merit.
Job 42: 2 GNB says: “I know, LORD, that you are all-powerful; that you can do everything you want.”
Declare With Me: I rise without protocols; when protocols say no, mercy will say yes to me, in Jesus’ name!
