TOPIC: EXPECT THE UNUSUAL
SCRIPTURE: “But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.” (Luke 1: 13)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
It is instructive to observe that Zachariah was merely at his duty post, doing his normal duties of burning incense in the temple, when the angel showed up with the good news that he was about to have a son. He was doing what he would normally do, when the news of what heaven was about to do for him was announced. He was caught up in the normal, when the supernatural was made manifest. From the normal, the unusual showed up.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: from the normal, let the unusual burst out. Let unusual miracles locate you in your normal places. Let the goodness of God unfold from places you least expect. Let good news arise for you from places you never expected. Let supernatural manifestations come your way through places and activities you never imagined they would arise from. As you do the normal, let the supernatural arise.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: from those normal duties, unusual favour will arise. From that normal business, unusual recognition and opportunities will arise. From the places you don’t expect help to arise, unusual help will arise. From odd places, mega opportunities you did not pray for will show up. From normal relationships, you will walk into unusual, profitable connections. From the ordinary places you go to, new doors will open to you.
At the appointed time for heaven to favour Zachariah, a normal priestly duty became an occasion for great things to happen. Get set: in this season, and as the year gradually draws to a close, out of the normal shall come the unusual. Out of the bitter shall come the sweet. Out of the ordinary shall come the extraordinary. Out of the regular shall come the spectacular. From the overlooked shall come that which can’t be overlooked.
Welcome to your season of the unusual. Welcome to that new season where the regular shall give rise to the spectacular.
Isaiah 41:18 says: “I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.”
