TOPIC: SEIZE THE MOMENT
SCRIPTURE: “Then said his sister to Pharaoh’s daughter, Shall I go and call to thee a nurse of the Hebrew women, that she may nurse the child for thee?” (Exodus 2:7)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
It is instructive to observe that when Moses’ sister saw that he had been picked up by Pharaoh’s daughter, she suggested that she should go and call a nurse from amongst the Hebrew women to nurse the child. She did not wait for Pharaoh’s daughter to even make a request. She understood the need and suggested a solution. She saw what was needed and plugged in to solve it. She seized the moment to become relevant.
Friend, in 2023, seize the moment and make yourself a solution to people around you. See opportunities for relevance and take them up immediately. See the need in your environment and become the solution. See the gap in the society and become the surest plug for solutions. Open your eyes and position yourself for relevance. Seize the moment and be a solution to the kings of this world.
Notice that Moses’ sister did not first look for what Pharaoh’s daughter will do for her. She focused on the value she could give her, and she made herself relevant in the process. This is not that year where every meeting with a king will be all about what the king will do for you. Seek to be useful and relevant to the kings of this world when they show up. Don’t just think of what they can offer you; think of what you can offer them.
Relevance is not all about what you are able to take from kings; sometimes, it is tucked away in what you can offer to kings. Sometimes, greatness is all about the value you are able to offer to those ahead of you. Relevance is all about discovering the need of the moment and becoming the solution to it. In 2023, be discerning enough to figure out the needs that must be met, and position yourself to be a solution carrier.
Remember, the opportunity for greatness may never announce itself; but seize the moment and become relevant.
Proverbs 12: 24 says: “The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.”
