TODAY’S ANGLICAN DAILY FOUNTAIN 14TH APRIL 2022 (THURSDAY)
TOPIC: PARTAKE RESPONSIBLY
TEXT: 1 Corinthians 11:23-29
INTRODUCTION TEXT: In our text, we see divine emphasis on the need for a clear understanding of the mystery of Holy Communion, before partaking in it. This sacrament was instituted by God to illustrate the force of the New Covenant expressed in the Body and Blood of Jesus. So, each time we partake of the Holy Communion, we remember Christ’s death: Its purpose and power.
How then should we approach the Holy Communion? We should do it with reverence, discernment and faith, trusting God to revalidate the force of Christ in our lives every time we partake of the Holy Communion. When we do, we will enjoy the power of the New Covenant expressed in the elements of the Holy Communion.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to see the mystery of the Holy Communion, Amen!
