Anglican Daily Fountain 15th February 2024 (Devotional Today)

Welcome to Today’s Daily Fountain Devotional of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. Daily Fountain is a daily reading devotional for all Anglicans and Non-Anglicans to read, study, share and discuss the Word of God on a daily basis.

TOPIC: WAITING ON GOD

TEXT: Psalm 52: 1-9(KJV)
52:1. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually.
52:2. The tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
52:3. Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
52:4. Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue.

52:5. God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah.
52:6. The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

52:7. Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.
52:8. But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.
52:9. I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.

Anglican Daily Fountain 15th February 2024 STUDY:

The wicked man boasts in evil, devises destruction, loves evil more than good, lies and loves deceitful words. But God shall destroy the wicked forever; remove him from his dwelling place and uproot him from the earth. The righteous shall see the end of the wicked and mock him for rejecting God and trusting in riches while sinning. But the righteous shall trust in God’s mercy, praise Him forever in the presence of the saints for His goodness. He will also wait upon God.

The wicked person will sooner or later be punished by God if he continues in his wickedness. Therefore, Christians should not worry when the wicked seem to prosper and get along in life. It is important to know that God is good to people who wait for Him and it is good for one to wait quietly for God’s salvation (Lam. 3: 25-26). Living a life of wickedness will lead to your destruction, so repent and seek God, and He will have mercy on you. Learn to wait on the Lord and seek His face in studying His word and communicating with Him in prayers. Your life will certainly be changed for the better.

PRAYER: Faithful God, please give me the grace to wait on You, Amen!
