Welcome to Today’s Daily Fountain Devotional of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. Daily Fountain is a daily reading devotional for all Anglicans and Non-Anglicans to read, study, share and discuss the Word of God on a daily basis.

TOPIC: THE DEFEAT OF SATAN

TEXT: Revelation 12:7-12(KJV)
12:7. And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,
12:8. And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.
12:9. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

12:10. And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
12:11. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
12:12. Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Anglican Daily Fountain 29 September 2023 STUDY:

The scripture says, “And there was war in heaven.”This war was between the Angels and Satan. Satan is a rebellious being and the accuser of the brethren. When he wanted to rebel against God in heaven, Angel Michael and the host of Angels fought him and defeated him and he was cast out from heaven with all his cohorts into earth and waters. The Angels defeated him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony (v.11). You can defeat satan anytime.

However, Christians should know that we are still in war with Satan. As in any war, it is important to know the strategy of the enemy. If we do not know the plan of attack, we will be vulnerable to Satan’s war on our souls. The devil today deceives people into sin but we should know that our Saviour Jesus Christ has defeated him and therefore, we should not be deceived by his misrepresentations. Jesus Christ our defence attorney makes an appeal for us in the courts of heaven. He also gives us authority to overcome the plot of Satan. Therefore, we can overcome, by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony. Fight and you will never be ashamed.

PRAYER: O Lord, grant me victory in all my fights against the devil in my life in Jesus’ name. Amen.
