Anglican Daily Fountain 5th December 2023 (Devotional Today)

Welcome to Today’s Daily Fountain Devotional of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. Daily Fountain is a daily reading devotional for all Anglicans and Non-Anglicans to read, study, share and discuss the Word of God on a daily basis.

TOPIC: SONGS OF PRAISE

TEXT: Isaiah 42:10-17(KJV)
42:10. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, ye that go down to the sea, and all that is therein; the isles, and the inhabitants thereof.
42:11. Let the wilderness and the cities thereof lift up their voice, the villages that Kedar doth inhabit: let the inhabitants of the rock sing, let them shout from the top of the mountains.
42:12. Let them give glory unto the LORD, and declare his praise in the islands.
42:13. The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.

42:14. I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
42:15. I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
42:16. And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.
42:17. They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye are our gods.

Anglican Daily Fountain 5th December 2023 STUDY:

Yesterday, we learnt of the Servant of God whom He sent to bring justice, redemption and righteousness. The personality of the Servant and the work He came to do are such that they evoke a new song of praise. This song of praise is to be sung by all (including the gentiles and the coastlines) who have been touched by the work of the Servant!

Thus, today you can sing and praise the Lord (God’s Servant) for the victory over the flesh, the world and Satan. The Lord shall prevail against His enemies and is committed to bringing justice with energy. He isn’t passive or dispassionate in His judgment. When He sets things right on the earth, He does it with zeal. His first coming was meek and lowly; the second coming will be loud and demonstrative!

Jesus is working and no obstacle can get in the way of His work. Mountains and hills can’t get in His way; rivers and seas will not stop Him. Even the blindness of others will not prevent His plan! In the end, those who trusted in idols shall be greatly ashamed at His second coming. Whatever injustice and evil we see today, Jesus shall deal with them at His second coming. This calls for songs of praise and faithful worship to God Almighty.

PRAYER: Lord, receive all honour;, glory and praise for all Your wonderful works in my life, Amen.
