Key Bible Verse: Proverbs 21:18 (KJV)
“The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.”

Message/Devotional Thought: “God Protects His Own”

This verse is a reminder of divine justice: God sees, knows, and acts on behalf of the righteous. In a world where evil often appears to prosper, this proverb assures us that God will ultimately turn the tables. The wicked may plot against the righteous, but their schemes will backfire. In fact, they may end up paying the price the righteous were supposed to bear.

This concept echoes a biblical pattern: God protects His people even in times of judgment or danger. Just as Haman was hanged on the gallows he built for Mordecai (Esther 7:10), so too the wicked may fall into their own traps, and the upright will be preserved.

God is not passive toward injustice — He is the defender of the righteous and will cause evil to become the ransom for their deliverance.

Other Bible References:
Isaiah 43:3 (KJV) “For I am the Lord thy God… I gave Egypt for thy ransom, Ethiopia and Seba for thee.”

Psalm 34:21-22 (KJV) “Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. The Lord redeemeth the soul of his servants…”

Proverbs 11:8 (KJV) “The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.”

Esther 7:10 (KJV) “So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai…”

Prayer:
Righteous Judge, Thank You for being my protector and defender. I rest in the assurance that You see all things and that You will always act justly. Even when the wicked rise, I trust that You will preserve me and cause their plans to come to nothing.
Let every trap set by the enemy turn into a testimony of Your power. Cause the wicked to be removed so the righteous may flourish. Strengthen my faith to trust in Your timing and Your justice. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
