Bible Verse For Today 8th May 2025 Thursday Reading Colossians 4:12
“Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.”
Message: “The Ministry of Fervent Intercession”
In this short but powerful verse, the Apostle Paul shines a spotlight on a hidden hero—Epaphras, a local man from Colossae. Though not an apostle or a public preacher, Epaphras was a servant of Christ marked by something deeply spiritual and critical: fervent prayer.
He didn’t just pray occasionally—he labored fervently. The Greek word used implies agonizing or wrestling in prayer. His intercession wasn’t passive; it was a spiritual fight for his fellow believers, not for fame, but so they would stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.
This challenges us today:
Are we wrestling in prayer for others to be matured in Christ?
Are we interceding beyond our personal needs, crying out for the Church to be aligned with God’s perfect will?
Epaphras was a prophetic intercessor—his work was invisible to men but seen by God. In this generation, God is still looking for such voices.

Prayer: Raise Up Epaphras Intercessors
Father in Heaven, Thank You for the example of Epaphras, a faithful servant who labored in prayer for the growth and maturity of others.
Raise up in me that same spirit of fervent intercession. Help me to wrestle in prayer not just for my needs, but for the body of Christ—to see Your people stand perfect and complete in Your will.
Let Your Church be awakened to the power of persistent, Spirit-led prayer. Call forth the hidden warriors, the prayer laborers, and the watchmen on the wall. May we carry each other in love and truth until Christ be fully formed in us.
Strengthen every intercessor with endurance and revelation, and crown their labor with visible fruit. In Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
