Bible Verse For Today Sunday 25 May 2025 Morning Reading

Ephesians 4:11–12 (KJV) “And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:”

Message: “Equipped to Build the Body”
These verses reveal God’s divine blueprint for the Church. Christ, as the Head of the Church, gives ministry gifts—apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers—not for status, but for service. Each role plays a unique function in the health and growth of the Body of Christ.

Their purpose is threefold:

Perfecting (equipping) the saints – helping believers mature in faith, character, and spiritual gifts.

Work of the ministry – empowering the Church to serve, evangelize, and disciple.

Edifying the body – building up and strengthening the Church in unity and love.

This passage reminds us that ministry is not just for a few on stage—every believer has a role. The fivefold ministry equips the saints so that everyone becomes an active participant in God’s mission.

The Church thrives not through spectatorship, but activation. When the gifts function properly, and the saints are equipped, revival, unity, and spiritual maturity become the fruit.

Prayer:
Father God, Thank You for establishing divine order in the Body of Christ. Thank You for the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers You’ve appointed to equip and edify Your Church. Lord, help me to honor and receive from the gifts You’ve placed in the body.

Equip me to grow, serve, and walk in maturity. Show me where I fit and how I can contribute to the work of the ministry. Let Your Church be built in unity and love, and may we all rise to reflect the fullness of Christ.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
