Bible Verse of the Day, Sunday 9th March 2025

Bible Verse (1 Peter 2:9–10)
“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”

Opening Prayer:
Heavenly Father, We come before You with hearts full of gratitude for Your love and mercy. Thank You for choosing us, calling us out of darkness, and making us Your own. As we reflect on Your Word, open our hearts and minds to understand our identity in You. Help us embrace our calling to declare Your praises and live as Your holy people. May Your Spirit guide us and transform us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Focus Message: “Living as God’s Chosen People”
In Christ, we are no longer defined by our past or our failures. We are chosen, set apart, and dearly loved. Our new identity in Christ calls us to live in a way that reflects His light, showing others the goodness and mercy of God.

Lessons:
1. Identity in Christ: We are not defined by the world’s standards or our past mistakes — we are defined by who God says we are: chosen, royal, holy, and His special possession.

2. Purpose to Praise: Our calling isn’t just for our benefit; we are called to proclaim God’s goodness. Our lives should point others to the transforming power of His grace.

3. From Darkness to Light: God rescued us from sin and separation, bringing us into His marvelous light. This transformation is a gift we should never take for granted.

4. The Power of Mercy: We were once estranged from God, but through Christ, we’ve received mercy. That mercy should compel us to extend grace to others and walk in humility.

Closing Prayer:
Father God, Thank You for reminding us of who we are in You. We are humbled by Your grace and overwhelmed by Your love. Help us walk in the light of our identity as Your chosen people. May we boldly declare Your praises and live lives that reflect Your goodness. Fill us with compassion for those still in darkness and use us to draw them closer to You. Let Your mercy shape our hearts, and may everything we do bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
