CATHOLIC DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR TUESDAY 8 FEBRUARY 2022
TODAY’S TOPIC: BLESSED ARE WE
SCRIPTURE: Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest in which she puts her young— …Blessed they who dwell in your house! Psalm 84:4, 5
Message: Catholic Daily Devotional 8th February 2022 Today
A big tree grows not far from the side of the building where we live. For weeks I kept hearing the sound of a bird, day after day. Then I realized the bird had her home in that tree! And there were eggs in the nest she was protecting and keeping safe until they hatched. At a time when so many in our city and in our world are homeless—seeking a safe place to be a home—her call seemed especially poignant.
I once heard a Scripture scholar teach that the Greek verb meno in John 15:4, usually translated as “remain in” or “abide in,” also means “make your home in.” We are invited: “Make your home in me as I make mine in you.” Home…in God!
Blessed are we who dwell in your house! Thank you, God! – Patricia Livingston
Bible Reading: 1 Kings 8:22-23, 27-30 • Psalm 84:3-5, 10-11; Mark 7:1-13
