Ever notice how many books and websites are dedicated to telling us how to declutter, organize our closets and downsize our belongings? Every season brings a new method to get the job done. We can tightly roll our clothes, sort things into piles, make a list of charities that will pick up the stuff on the curb, and next year, we will do the same things again.
Everything we have is a gift from God, starting with our lives and including all our stuff. As we strive to develop a deeper relationship with Christ, we all must choose how to spend our time, money and talent. Wealth, intelligence and even good health can become the center of our lives, displacing the desire to love and serve others. The desire to serve is the one thing that matters in making the best use of our gifts. – Deborah Meister
