MESSAGE: Catholic Daily Devotional Today 5th February 2022
A young man was telling me how he came to faith. Nobody in his family was Christian, and few understood his desire to become one. But as a college student, he went through a terrible trial and desolation. His quest to find the meaning of his suffering led him to Jesus and the Church. Discovering Christ’s love didn’t take away the suffering but gave him all he needed and more. Those who know him see the fruits in his life, as does he.
Human beings tend to be practical: We search for what we need. In the Gospels, we see how Jesus’ compassion and healing presence bring people flocking to him. He shares with us his work and mission, to bring healing where there is illness, hope where there is suffering and life where death seems to reign.
With all my heart I seek you, Jesus; let me receive and share your healing presence.
