CATHOLIC DAILY REFLECTIONS AND PRAYER 7TH APRIL 2022
TODAY’S TOPIC: Fertile Souls Carrying the Word of God
SCRIPTURE: I will render you exceedingly fertile; I will make nations of you. – Genesis 17:6
Let us listen to God whisper these words to us: “I will render you exceedingly fertile; I will make nations of you.” God has sent us out into the world with fertile souls carrying the Word of God and birthing good fruits of the Spirit. As we travel through life, may we use our good fruits to nourish others, build relationship bridges and raise communities in the name of Jesus Christ.
Like St. John Baptist de la Salle, we could teach and encourage the young in our society to go forth and build, rebuild and transform communities and nations for the greater glory of God. Our souls have been rendered exceedingly fertile by God’s Word; let us ensure our souls remain nourished by surrounding ourselves with all that is loving and all that gives us renewed life.
Merciful God, you have made our souls fertile ground for your Word. Help us do your will.

Prayers & Blessings
Morning Prayers: Praise to you, O Lord, for the dawn of a new day. May the same Spirit that gives life to all of creation give me new life today. Open my heart in welcome to all that you wish to give me today. Bless the people I will encounter and help me to be an ambassador of your love for them. I pray that I may do your holy will in all things, through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen.
Lord, in the song of the birds I hear your delight in all of creation. In the warmth of the sunlight and the rain, I feel your care for all living things. In this new day, help me to let go of what happened yesterday and avoid too much concern about what will happen tomorrow. You have given me life this day, and with it I have everything I need to be happy. Help me to see my blessings and appreciate them. Amen.
Lord, I have obligations that I need to fulfill today, but to tell you the truth, I am not looking forward to it. I do, however, want to trust that all things will work together for good through your loving providence. May the mysterious action of the Holy Spirit transform all my actions into greater glory for you and for the salvation of the whole world. Amen.
Evening Prayers: Gracious God, you have given me the gift of life so that I might have the fullness of joy through Jesus, your Son. As this day draws to a close, I place myself in your hands. May all my worries, concerns and fears dissolve in confidence that your mercy will last forever. Renew in me the hope for a brighter future, faith in your providential care and love for those nearest to me, especially those who need it most. Help me to grow in trust that I have done the best I could and that you will be with me all the days of my life. Amen.
In the stillness of this night, I call to you, dear Lord, to make me aware of my faults and transgressions this day. In your mercy, help me heal any wounds my actions have caused; help me learn from my mistakes and omissions; give me the patience and compassion to attend to the needy, so that I may model your love in this world. Amen.
Lord, I place in your hands the unfinished business of the day, the hopes I had at its beginning and the regrets I have now at its end. Thank you for the times I felt your presence in the satisfaction of accomplishment and the enjoyment ofyour good creation, especially the people you have placed in my life. Amen.
