Romans 8:26 (NIV): “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
Message: Help in Our Weakness
Prayer is one of the greatest gifts God has given us—but there are moments when we don’t know how or what to pray. We may be overwhelmed, heartbroken, confused, or simply exhausted. It’s in these moments that the Holy Spirit steps in—not as a distant observer, but as our intercessor.
The Spirit doesn’t just assist us in prayer—He prays through us. He intercedes with deep, wordless groans, expressing the inexpressible desires of our hearts and aligning them with God’s will. Our weakness does not disqualify us from prayer—it qualifies us for supernatural help.
This verse is a reminder that God is not looking for perfect prayers. He’s looking for yielded hearts. When we don’t have the words, the Spirit speaks for us.

Prayer
Holy Spirit, Thank You for being my helper and intercessor. When I am weak, You are strong. When I don’t have the words to pray, You speak with groanings too deep for words. Teach me to yield to You in prayer. Let my heart be sensitive to Your voice. Align my desires with the will of the Father. Help me to trust in Your perfect intercession, knowing that even in silence, You are working on my behalf. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
