TOPIC: HALLELUJAH X 56!

Opening Prayer: Hallelujah! What a Savior You are!

Read Revelation 11:15–19 – The Seventh Trumpet
15 The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said:

“The kingdom of the world has become
the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah,
and he will reign for ever and ever.”

16 And the twenty-four elders, who were seated on their thrones before God, fell on their faces and worshiped God, 17 saying:

“We give thanks to you, Lord God Almighty,
the One who is and who was,
because you have taken your great power
and have begun to reign.
18 The nations were angry,
and your wrath has come.
The time has come for judging the dead,
and for rewarding your servants the prophets
and your people who revere your name,
both great and small—
and for destroying those who destroy the earth.”

19 Then God’s temple in heaven was opened, and within his temple was seen the ark of his covenant. And there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, an earthquake and a severe hailstorm.

Reflect: Daily Discovery 23rd September 2020 Devotional
Recall your most excited and intensely celebratory moment. Imagine sharing that with more people than you could count.
The exclamation “Hallelujah!” occurs 56 times in the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. “Not nearly enough,” I say! It’s absolutely breathtaking that the kingdom of this world will become—so certainly that today we hear the complete and glorified church singing “has become”—the kingdom of our God and of his Christ.

This great vision has sustained Christians for centuries. Today, let it sustain you: in your life, in the life of your church and as you pray for the global church. The day will come when all that defies God now will yield. Many will bow before the one whom they trust as their Savior; many will bow before the one they discover is their judge. But every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of the Father.

If there is one verse that sums up both the content and the value of Revelation, it’s verse 15. The content? God wins; all the saints in heaven lay aside their honors and bow in worship; the air is almost solid with praise. The value? Persevere; the seventh trumpet is as good as sounded already. Hallelujah!

Apply: We were made to worship. What is worship? Is it a song or a lifestyle? Perhaps it’s a lifestyle of walking in obedience? How can you worship God throughout your day today?

Closing Prayer:
Lord, I praise You that when You are glorified I am satisfied. Teach me to live a life of honor to You.
