Read and Meditate on Today’s  Scripture Union Daily Guide for Thursday 16th June 2022. May the Lord bless you through His Word, Amen!

Topic: Jesus is The Lord!

Opening Prayer: Oh Lord, grant me spiritual insight into the truth of your word as I study it.

Scripture: Luke 19:28‐48

Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Jesus sent two of His disciples on an errand that looks weird (vs.29‐31). What can we learn from their response (vs.32‐35)? We too may be called to certain uncommon areas of service that we may not be comfortable with or that may be difficult to understand. If we simply obey, He will take charge of the situation. What can enable us to obey Him without giving excuses is a strong conviction of His Lordship.

Notice that the owners of the colt did not resist Jesus’ disciples but conceded to Christ’s Lordship. Parents and guardians have a lot to learn from the owners of the colt when the Lord needs their children for certain services. The people joined Jesus’ disciples to celebrate His kingship (vs.36‐38). Why did some of the Pharisees ask Jesus to rebuke them (v.39)? Unbelief is a terrible barrier to worship.

We must rid our hearts of every element of unbelief so we can recognize the time of God’s visitation in our lives (vs.40‐44). What’s more? Are you facing opposition because of your service to the Lord? If you are faithful to the Lord, no opposition can stop you until you complete your assignment (vs.47‐48).

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
• Heal my unbelief, Lord, and help me to always obey you without complaining.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with
Deuteronomy 31:6; 2 Chronicles 13‐15; Mark 15
