Read and Meditate on Today’s  Scripture Union Daily Guide for Saturday 18th June 2022. May the Lord bless you through His Word, Amen!

Topic: Do not oppose God!

Opening Prayer: As I read through this passage dear Lord, let your word bring transformation to my life.

Scripture: Luke 20:9‐26

Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

How does this parable make you feel? Notice the people’s response in v.16b. We often feel disgusted by the evil that other people commit but hardly accept our error or sin. The earlier we change this attitude the better to avoid the anger of God. In this parable, Jesus presents God the Father as the owner of the vineyard, the Jewish leaders as the tenants, the prophets as the servants and Himself the son of the owner of the vineyard.

Imagine the reaction of the teachers of the law and chief priests in vs.19‐20! How do we respond when confronted with the truth about our lives? Do we repent or do we become angry and search for ways to attack the people God uses to correct us? The spies sought to trap Jesus through the question on payment of taxes to Caesar but Jesus, knowing their motive, was sensitive enough to answer them rightly (vs.21‐25).

How knowledgeable are we on the constitution of our country? Are we keeping up with our civic responsibilities as and when due? We must be known for obedience to constituted authorities and guiltless of every law.

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
• Lord Jesus, please grant me your wisdom to enable me to answer everyone appropriately.

Prayer for the week
• Pray for revival in our land, that there will be increased knowledge and study of the word of God. Pray for our ministers and their ministries that they will return the preaching the total gospel of salvation

Offer a prayer of faith in line with
Numbers 6:24 ‐ 26; 2 Chronicles 18‐20; Ecclesiastes 1
