Opening Prayer: Open my eyes O Lord that I might behold wondrous things from your word in Jesus name.

Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Message | Daily Guide 19 April 2022 | Scripture Union Devotional

Jesus Christ is the Living Word. He never did or said anything contrary to the Written Word. Amid their varied emotions here demonstrated: startled, frightened, doubtful, unbelieving, joyful, wondering, the only solution the Lord had for them was found right in what has already been written. The situation in our world today is like what that small group experienced.

The Lord’s answer is same for today as it was for them (vs.45‐47). We need to remind ourselves of what the Bible says as we experience fears and doubts. Facing the future henceforth was another issue the Lord knew the disciples would confront. He did not only assign them a task, He also assured them of the divine provision, the power to perform, the unction to function and His abiding presence.

Meditate again on vs.47‐49? What is the significance of waiting in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came and filled them with power? How does this apply to the Church today? Are you waiting on the Lord on a daily basis before you rush to do any spiritual or secular task you confront?

Practice/Word Application
And So? Read Isaiah 40:28‐31. Do not run ahead of Him. Wait!

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
• Dear heavenly Father, help me to wait on you until I am filled with your power to do the task you assign me.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with
2 Thessalonians 3:3; Joshua 17, 18
