Topic: The Only True King Returns to Earth
Opening Prayer: As I read through this passage dear Lord, let your word bring transformation to my life.
Scripture: Revelations 19:11‐21
Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?
The coming and reign of Jesus Christ in power and glory is indicated here. Notice the description of the rider (vs.11‐12). All the attributes highlighted in this text fit the person of Jesus Christ. He is the only one who qualifies as the Word of God, the King of kings. Note those characteristics and compare them with the following references (John 1:1‐2, Daniel 7:13‐14, Revelation 17:14).
The rider, Jesus Christ, heads the great feast where God takes vengeance over the death of His children. The beast and the false prophets cannot defeat the Word of God for they were created by Him in the first place – enough of their deception and evil. The beast and its followers finally face their judgment. Notice the sentence passed on them (vs.20‐21).
The King possesses all power and authority. That is obvious in this passage. He had a new name which is not revealed to John. The sword from His mouth is His word which penetrates the human soul and spirit (Hebrews 4:12). The power in God’s word is beyond our imagination. We are privileged to have His word at our disposal. But the power is in the declaration of the word.
His judgment is a reminder that although He gives time for the world to repent, there will be the Day of Judgment. By then, it will be too late to make such a decision

• Lord, open my eyes to see and worship you in your glory and splendour.
Prayer for the week
• Pray against injustice that is practiced in our country. Remember brethren whose lands, promotions and rights are being denied them that God will give them justice. Pray against the brethren becoming discouraged.
