Read and Meditate on Today’s Scripture Union Daily Guide for Monday 25th April 2022. May the Lord bless you through His Word, Amen!

Today’s Topic: Repopulating the world

Opening Prayer: As I read your word O Lord, grant me an insight and grace to do your will in Jesus name.

Scripture: Genesis 10:1‐32

Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
Here we get the information of how the earth was repopulated after the flood. Noah’s sons reproduced and grew into big families, clans and nations that moved out to all parts of the earth. Right from the beginning, God required mankind to “increase ? and fill the earth” (see Genesis 1:28) but this requirement was continuously hampered by man’s sin and disobedience leading to destruction of human life at each given phase.

But because the spread of nations over the face of the earth was central to God’s mission, He preserved a remnant and continued the spread, regardless of man’s behaviour or cooperation. Today’s passage is a reminder that God’s mission will be fulfilled despite man’s rebellion against Him and His word. It is better for us to obey and cooperate with God rather than stand in opposition to His plans and mission. Those who obey and cooperate will find blessing, salvation and favour from Him. Those who disobey will face pain and destruction.

Practice/Word Application
Meditation: Reflect on Acts 17:26‐27. And So? Are you cooperating with God in fulfilling His mission on earth?

Pray for grace to always do this.
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
Closing Prayer
• Lord, please help me to remain vigilant and alert, so evil action does not catch me off‐guard.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Jeremiah 33:6
