Topic: Maranatha, Come Lord!
Opening Prayer: I open my heart to meditate on your word, teach me your ways oh Lord.
Scripture: Revelations 22:6‐21
Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Is there any promise for me to believe or hope for?
• Is there any prayer for me to remember?
As we come to the end of the written word, we are also reminded that the living word is in charge. Moreover, He is coming back soon to establish His eternal kingdom. How prepared are we for His return which can take place at any moment? Again, notice the discouragement of the worship of saints and idols here. Idolatry is a theme that God constantly cautioned against all through the Scripture.
This is subtler in our days. How do we guard against the various covert forms of idolatry even in the church? Meanwhile, we are to keep faith and hope alive. Those whose names are not found in the Book of Life will be kept out of the Kingdom. Jesus is coming with His reward for all whose names are in His register having heeded the call to be a part of God’s family. Are there people around us who have not heeded the call?
Are we burdened for them? It is important to share our faith with those who have not understood the gift of eternal life. We end the books of the Scripture with the expectation and certainty of the coming of our Lord for His Church. Maranatha, come Lord!
