Our prayer yesterday was that God would enable us to be faithful witnesses of the Good News of Jesus Christ through this New Year. Today, we have the good example of John the Baptist to follow.
V.15a. He was not ashamed or fearful. He cried out to make sure the people heard what he was saying about Jesus. There are occasions for public witnessing involving the use of microphones and loudspeakers but, in other situations, quiet one-on-one speaking may be required.

V.15b. He knew Jesus Christ well enough to introduce Him to others. We cannot give hearsay testimony but must speak from a personal experience of the Lord. We know that John the Baptist was only six months older than Jesus Christ (Luke 1:36). How then do we understand his words in this verse? (Compare John 8:58).
Vs.16-18. He had a clear message. What three points did he make about Jesus in these three verses?

Vs.19-27. He lifted Jesus Christ and not himself. Have you seen examples of preachers who advertised themselves and their miraculous powers rather than Jesus Christ whom they claim to proclaim? Or are you one of them?

Closing Prayer
Lord, please teach me to say the right words in my witness to you and say them in the right way. Help me to live a life that supports my testimony.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Jeremiah 29:14
