TOPIC: ATTAINING AND MAINTAINING THE FEAR OF GOD
Distance from the Bible equals the death of the fear of God.
SCRIPTURE: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy is understanding. Proverbs 9:10
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Distance from the Bible equals the death of the fear of God.
We saw in our previous study that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.
Now, how do you attain and maintain the fear of God?
By the Knowledge of the Word of God
The more of His Word you know, the more of His fear you will connect.
Deuteronomy 17:18-19 says, And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites: And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the Lord his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
When God was talking to the children of Israel about the kind of king they were to get, He said they should ensure that their king had a copy of the Book of His Word, which is the Bible (Deuteronomy 17:18) and read it all the days of his life, so he would learn to fear God. CONTINUE READING
