Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. – Ephesians 4:29
Today’s Inspiration
Corruption has plagued government and religion since their dawn. Selfishness and pride are evils that have destroyed so many institutions, and this verse implores anyone not to engage in any corrupt speech. The words are especially damaging if they come from a place of religious or governmental authority. Listen carefully and make the judgments yourself. A humble speech is one that is generally positive in the sight of God.
Night Prayer
Dear Lord, deliver me from evil in all forms. Help me to use my tongue humbly rather than for my selfish desires. I shall model my speech after the most humble speaker of all, Jesus Christ, who taught us of Your holy word, God. Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
