Why are you competing in a race that was never designed for you? What are you trying to prove: that if you get small enough, strong enough, successful enough, then you’ll feel good about yourself? Get out of that race. You can feel good about who you are right now.
You’re in a class all of your own. When God made you, He threw away the mold. He stepped back and said, “That was good, another masterpiece.” He put His DNA in you. Who said you don’t look good, who said you’re not talented enough, who said you need to be taller, more creative, have a better personality? Don’t believe those lies. Quit comparing, quit competing, and run your race.

Today’s Word On Joel Osteen 20 April 2021 Tuesday Daily Message
Two people live inside each of us. There’s the kind, disciplined, confident you, and there’s the critical, compromising, insecure you. Most of the time you’re kind and patient, but if somebody pushes the right buttons, the hurtful and impatient you comes out. There’s a battle constantly taking place between the two yous, between the flesh and the spirit, between your old carnal nature and your new redeemed nature.
When you gave your life to Christ, you became a new creation. But the flesh, even though it s passed away, can get back up. Romans 8:13 says, If you live by the flesh, you will die. It means that if you’re always saying and doing what you feel like, your dreams and potential and relationships will die. It goes on to say, But if through the Spirit, you mortify the flesh, you will live.
To mortify means to keep it dead. You have to decide to say no to the flesh. When you do the right thing when you’re tempted, you’ll keep the old man down.
Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that I can choose to be disciplined and kind and say no to the flesh and its desires. Thank You that every day I can take my feelings off the throne and allow Your Spirit to control my life. Help me to live by the Spirit and do what s right. In Jesus Name, Amen.
