Today’s Word | Joel Osteen Daily Devotional 7th August 2022

Today’s Scripture tells a story about the disciples’ surprise when they found Jesus sitting beside a well, totally refreshed. When they had left him, he was tired and hungry after traveling a long way to Samaria. But in the meantime, He had met a woman and given her life a new beginning. Jesus explained the secret to His renewed strength: “I get fed by doing what God wants Me to do. My strength, peace, joy, and satisfaction come when I serve others.”

God wants you to make the lives of others better. When you do the will of your Father, you feel energized, stronger, and refreshed. You may volunteer in your community or get up early on Sunday and serve in the children’s ministry. You’d think you would leave tired, but when you help others, you get replenished. Strength, joy, energy, peace, and healing come to those who serve. God reenergizes and refreshes you so that at the end of the day you aren’t down, you are up. God pays you back.

Prayer for Today
Father, thank You that I have something that someone else needs to make their life better. Thank You that I can follow Jesus’ example and find renewed strength through my service to others. I declare that my food is to do Your will and help in the works You have started. In Jesus’ Name, Amen
