Joel Osteen Daily Devotional for 7th March 2025 Friday
Today’s Topic: Tested and Proven
Scripture: God did not lead them along the main road that runs through Philistine territory, even though that was the shortest route to the Promised Land. God said, “If the people are faced with a battle, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” – Exodus 13:17, NLT
Today’s Word
When the Israelites were in the desert on their way to the Promised Land, God didn’t take them the easiest way because they weren’t prepared for war. The longer route with the delays and difficulties wasn’t because God wanted to make their life miserable. He was getting them ready for enemies that would have defeated them.
Having to deal with hardships, not knowing what they were going to eat, people coming against them, was all strategic. That was growing them up, making them stronger. God knew they needed that to go into the Promised Land. The reason you face difficulties, things that may not seem fair, is because God has an awesome future in store for you. That’s a time of testing.
Where God is taking you is going to take greater faith, greater strength, greater patience. Every challenge you face is a sign that God is getting you ready for something you’ve never seen. Don’t get sour. Have a new perspective. That’s how you grow. That’s how you come out stronger, more confident, more patient, more loving, more forgiving.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that my faith and trust are anchored to You and Your mighty power at work in my life. Thank You that I don’t have to be moved by the tests and troubles I face because I know that You are making me stronger. I declare that I am coming out better. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
TODAY’S INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE: We know God ordered Jesus’ steps, but He also ordered Judas’ steps. Without Judas betraying Jesus, we wouldn’t have salvation. Without Goliath coming against David, David would have never taken the throne.
Without my father going to be with the Lord, I would have never stepped up to pastor the church. When things run out in your life, instead of complaining, being bitter, keep the right perspective. It had to run out so you can see the best, so you can step up to who you were created to be.
When God says it’s your time to be free, all the forces of darkness cannot stop Him. You may not see a way. The medical report says you won’t get well. Your business looks like it’s not going to make it. You’ve been to rehab, you tried, you couldn’t break the addiction. It’s been too long. The opposition is too big. You’re right where the Israelites were.
God is saying to you what He said to them. “I’ve seen your affliction. I’ve seen what you’ve struggled with. I’ve seen those that broke your heart. I’ve seen the worry, the heaviness that follows you around. I’ve seen the lonely nights, the tears, the suffering, and I am coming down to put an end to it.” He won’t simply make things better or help you get by; instead, He will make you unquestionably free.
