Today’s Topic: Why Hide?
Scripture: Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. Hebrews 4:13, NLT
Today’s Word
Adam and Eve were the first ones to try to hide and cover up their sin from God, but we’ve all done it since then. David tried to cover up his sin with Bathsheba and pretended for over a year that he was doing just fine. It might be about a situation where we compromised, or guilt over an addiction, or pride, or anger. It might be about our shortcomings, failures, or insecurities.
We have to try really hard to pretend, to look good and protect our image, as well as to try to ignore what we feel deep down. Why try to hide? God already knows the areas you struggle in. He knows your weaknesses, your sins, your failures. He knows who you really are, not who you pretend to be. A much better way to live is to say, “God, I’m tired of pretending to be something I’m not. I want to be real. Here’s what I’ve covered, and I have no excuse for it. I’m asking You to change me, to make and mold me. I can’t do it on my own.”
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that I don’t have to hide my weaknesses or shortcomings. Search my heart and show me where my motives are wrong and where I’m pretending. I humbly admit that I don’t have it all together, and I’m glad You’re still working on me. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
TODAY’S INSPIRATIONAL MESSAGE: So many around us are hurting. God is looking for people who will be a safe place. Your mind will tell you all the reasons it’s not going to happen. How you’re stuck, you’ve reached your limits. “You can’t take that promotion; you’re not qualified. You’ll never get out of debt; you come from the wrong family.” Do yourself a favor; tune all that out and get in agreement with God. “Father, I believe what You promised. Thank You for causing me to soar like the eagles, taking me to heights that I’ve never been.”
