JOEL OSTEEN Devotional 15 March 2025 (Saturday)
Today’s Topic: Anxious for Nothing
Scripture: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. – Philippians 4:6–7, NKJV
Today’s Word
To “be anxious for nothing” is a bold statement that can sound unrealistic when you’re looking at a bad medical report or facing a job layoff. However, Paul tells us how it can happen. He was saying, “When anxiety attacks, go to God and ask for His help.” You have to pray with supplication, which means with humility. “God, I need You. I can’t do this on my own. I’m depending on Your goodness, mercy, and favor.” Once you pray and give it to God, shift into a mindset of thanksgiving.
No more worrying. Go to Him from a place of faith and thanksgiving, knowing that God is fighting your battles. He’s working out His plan for your life. Then comes the promise of the supernatural peace of God. It’s peace when you’re taking the medical treatment, when you lose a loved one, when someone does you wrong. People will look at you and ask, “Aren’t you anxious? How can you be at peace?” Just tell them, “The peace I have didn’t come from this world. It’s from my Heavenly Father.”
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that the anxieties that come my way are no match for You and the help You bring to me. Thank You that I can come to you with my needs and leave them in Your hands. I receive Your supernatural peace and rest, knowing that You are fighting my battles. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
The Scripture says, “Let the weak say I am strong. Let the poor say I am well off.” Don’t just sit around in weakness; don’t just talk about how life is not fair and “I’ll probably always struggle.” Talking defeat brings more defeat. Talking about the weakness will keep you weak. God’s given you a sword that can break the powers that are holding you back.
You have a sword that can unleash your dreams, unlock your potential and thrust you to a new level. Take it out of its sheath and start swinging it. “I am blessed. I am prosperous. I am strong, healthy, forgiven, favored. I am more than a conqueror.” You keep swinging your sword like that, and you’ll see God do things you couldn’t do: favor, breakthroughs, new levels of your destiny.
The enemy would love for us to go through life feeling inferior, focused on our weaknesses, weighed down with regrets, guilty from past mistakes, condemned, ashamed. But what the enemy put on you, God is about to take off of you. This is a new day. He’s chiseling away wrong mindsets, chiseling away negative words people have spoken, chiseling away guilt and shame, chiseling away hurts, brokenness, offense. You’re about to step into a new level of your destiny. The true you is about to come out. The blessed you, the free you, the healthy, the confident you, the victorious you.
