Today’s Topic: Mistakes Do Not Define You
Scripture: For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You. – Psalm 86:5, NKJV
Today’s Word
The enemy is called “the accuser of our brethren.” He’ll remind you of every mistake you’ve ever made. He’d love for you to live down on yourself, thinking you don’t deserve anything good. He’ll whisper, “You had God’s blessing, but you squandered it. You had His favor, but you mishandled your marriage and didn’t treat your spouse with respect. You mishandled your dream.
You got distracted and compromised. You mishandled your talent and wasted your potential. You weren’t focused and didn’t develop what you know is in you.” That may all be true, but what the enemy doesn’t tell you is that there’s another chance coming. God’s forgiveness and mercy is bigger than your mistakes. God didn’t give up on you because you mishandled what He gave you.
He has another opportunity so you can prove to Him who you really are. You’re not defined by your mistakes. You’re prepared by your mistakes. Every failure can teach you something. Don’t live in regrets; learn from your mistakes. Get the lesson out of it so you don’t keep repeating it.
Prayer For Today
“Father, thank You that whatever the enemy says about me cannot withstand Your great mercy. Thank You that I am not defined by my mistakes and failures, but I am defined by what You say about me. I am forgiven and redeemed and free from condemnation. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.”
Be careful who you let in your ear. The enemy would love to use people to discourage you, talk you out of your dreams, convince you to live intimidated, thinking you’re not up to par, the giant is too big. You wouldn’t be facing it if you weren’t already equipped. God won’t allow a giant that you can’t defeat. If that obstacle was too big, God wouldn’t have put you there. Tune out those negative voices. Tune into what God says about you. You’re a giant killer, a history maker, a barrier breaker.
You’re coming into a shift, a breakthrough. What you couldn’t do on your own, God is going to step in and do for you. Your destiny is too great, your time too valuable for you to go another year restricted, limited. You’re about to see the God of the breakthrough, the God who suddenly shows up and puts an end to what’s holding you back. He wants you to be unquestionably free. That means there’s nothing draining your joy, nothing hindering your potential, nothing limiting your relationships. Yes, there are seasons we have to endure, fight the good fight of faith, but there comes a time when God says, “Enough is enough. Now, I’m going to step in and free you, heal you, promote you, favor you.”
